Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Route Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships with drivers and customers through effective communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving. This position encompasses dispatching and shipping tasks and serves as a backup for the Freight Manager. Flexibility to work over 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, is essential.

Primary Duties:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering a safe and inclusive environment for drivers
  • Scheduling deliveries to meet customer expectations and deadlines
  • Verifying customer delivery details, including addresses and contact information
  • Communicating driver routes promptly to ensure work-life balance
  • Designing efficient loads and planning delivery stops with safety as a priority
  • Maximizing driver productivity and optimizing fleet utilization
  • Enhancing route efficiency by minimizing unnecessary mileage
  • Collaborating with Customer Service Representatives and Sales on urgent orders
  • Managing common carrier billing and communication regarding shipping methods
  • Overseeing driver documentation and log verification
  • Auditing bills of lading and validating missed delivery reasons
  • Managing backorders and future orders
  • Supporting the Stop Work Authority Program
  • Escalating issues to the Freight Manager as necessary

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and a team player
  • Willingness to learn and adapt, with strong communication abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of FMCSA and State DOT regulations, including HOS rules

Educational Background and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of office or computer experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation (dispatch, driver, administration)

Compensation Information:

Hourly compensation ranges from $22.00 to $28.00, based on various factors including location, shift, and relevant skills and experience. Advanced Drainage Systems offers competitive pay, opportunities for professional growth, and comprehensive medical and retirement benefits.
