About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology team at US Oncology, Inc. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cancer and related diagnoses.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their unique needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Patient Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote informed decision-making and optimal health outcomes.
  • Procedure Performance: Perform various medical procedures, including injections, biopsies, and other diagnostic tests, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Case Management: Identify and address potential barriers to care, such as social determinants of health, and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Staff Education and Development: Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, and share your expertise with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
  • Experience: Minimum 0-3 years of experience in a medical oncology setting (Level 1), 3-6 years (Level 2), or 6+ years (Level Sr).
  • Licensure: Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
