Nursing Professional Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Shadow Creek Ranch. As an LVN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in accordance with established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze pertinent health-related information to develop effective care plans.
- Implement service plans formulated by the Director of Health Services, ensuring the highest level of care for our residents.
- Utilize safe and appropriate techniques and nursing skills to provide patient care, prioritizing the well-being and safety of our residents.
- Report changes in patient status to the supervisor, including hospitalizations, discharges, and physician appointments.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation consistent with the service plan/plan of care.
- Communicate effectively with other disciplines involved in patient care, including weekends.
- Administer medication per physician orders, monitoring for any adverse reactions and notifying the physician accordingly.
- Assist residents in learning appropriate self-care activities, promoting independence and dignity.
- Organize and monitor human and material resources necessary for meeting the needs of our residents.
- Participate in staff development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited program for a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) and is currently licensed in the State of Texas.
- Has had at least one year of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
- Has had experience in geriatric nursing, emergency care, and first aid.
- Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State.
- Desirable to have training in the special needs of the cognitively impaired resident, including Alzheimer's and Dementia training with a focus on Validation Therapy.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess the ability to work effectively with physicians, management, employees, and other outside contacts.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work with and supervise staff.
