Overview:

The role of a Senior Geological Engineer at HVJ Associates, a prominent engineering firm in Texas, is to assist project managers and team members in ensuring client satisfaction while adhering to relevant standards, specifications, and organizational protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting field operations, including site assessments, laboratory testing as required, and documenting activities while managing physical demands (ability to lift 50 lbs. and occasional travel and shift work may be necessary).
  • Coordinating field and laboratory tasks effectively.
  • Performing engineering evaluations for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and settlement analysis.
  • Preparing geotechnical documentation for review by Project Managers.
  • Supporting Project Managers in business development initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or actively pursuing registration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with robust mathematical and scientific abilities.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Capacity to work outdoors year-round.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair testing equipment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, including travel within Texas as required.

Additional Expectations:
  • Achieve Professional Geologist (PG) licensure within two years.
