Job Summary

As a key member of the Van Wall Equipment team, the Service Department Manager will be responsible for leading the service operations within the dealership to drive growth and profitability. This role will oversee the development and implementation of effective Service Department processes to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and communicate Service Department goals and budget in alignment with the organization's financial and operational objectives

- Create and execute a Service Department marketing plan to drive labor sales and achieve departmental goals

- Coordinate customer clinics, field days, and promotional events to engage with customers and promote services

- Ensure timely submission of service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims to maximize credit

- Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees based on their skills and knowledge

- Review work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience in Service department operations preferred

- 2+ years of previous management experience

- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions

- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups

- Familiarity with John Deere and other similar product lines

- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations

- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports

- Ability to work extended hours and weekends

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
