Job Summary

Comprehensive Community Action is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our team. As an Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for completing intake and assessments with individuals and/or families in need, coordinating services to meet those needs, and determining eligibility for basic human needs programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete intake and assessments with individuals and/or families in need through face-to-face contact or phone interviews.
  • Coordinate services to help meet the needs of clients.
  • Determine eligibility for basic human needs programs such as energy assistance, housing, and various other programs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a non-judgmental and friendly approach to all clients, the community, and staff.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and maintain a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Perform data entry, filing, and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and return voicemails.
  • Check in clients and review documentation.
  • Complete client requests for needs-based application programs and determines eligibility.
  • Attend training and continuing education sessions to maintain knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform data entry in a timely manner.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this job include sitting, talking, and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The environment is a business office setting, and the employee may be exposed to biohazardous materials requiring universal standard precautions.
