Title: Communication and Marketing Specialist, CoPA

Employment Type: Regular, Full-Time (40 Hours Weekly)

Compensation: Anticipated Pay Range: $66,560 - $70,000

Role Summary:
The Communication and Marketing Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Dean to craft and execute comprehensive communication and promotional strategies for the College of Performing Arts (CoPA). This role will involve supporting and partnering with various stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as colleagues from Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC), to achieve CoPA's marketing, communication, public relations, and event objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Communication: Collaborate with the Dean to devise and implement communication strategies that enhance recruitment efforts by showcasing the unique and high-quality student experience within CoPA. Develop, execute, and assess an annual marketing campaign for CoPA.
  • Material Development: Partner with SMC to design, review, and produce marketing materials for institutional branding and publicity initiatives, ensuring adherence to established branding guidelines.
  • Advisory Role: Provide insights to the Dean regarding effective communication practices across various mediums and recommend innovative strategies to bolster recruitment efforts.
  • Content Management: Oversee the coordination and maintenance of website and social media updates, print materials, and photography, ensuring a balanced representation across formats.
  • Project Coordination: Maintain a comprehensive calendar to track communication schedules, production timelines, and distribution of materials across digital and print platforms.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with approved vendors to guarantee the quality and timely delivery of marketing materials and services.
  • Creative Production: Design, produce, and edit content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Event Promotion: Ensure effective and strategically targeted publicity for CoPA events through diverse channels.
  • Advertising Coordination: Identify and manage advertising opportunities for CoPA.
  • Effectiveness Evaluation: Analyze and assess the impact of marketing initiatives and gather market research data as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and producing marketing materials, preferably in a performing arts context.
  • Proficient in utilizing social and print media for organizational promotion.
  • Three to five years of professional experience in public relations or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in PR, Communications, English, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with design tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience in social media content management and web design.
