Homelessness represents a significant social and public health challenge in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness through targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services, and programs for children and families. With over 13 facilities and 22 micro-communities throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire, we are making a difference.

Position Summary

The Housing Case Manager plays a crucial role in the community, providing direct transitional care to a manageable caseload of clients across our service areas. This position requires adaptability, resourcefulness, strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and advanced critical thinking abilities. The role encompasses both remote and in-person interactions as needed, focusing on delivering exceptional transitional care to homeless and other vulnerable populations.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $25.00, contingent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate housing options for programs across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with property managers and landlords to enhance housing availability.
  • Perform housing inspections to ensure compliance with HUD Housing Habitability standards.
  • Conduct utility inspections and generate detailed reports.
  • Execute rent reasonableness assessments in accordance with HUD Housing Habitability requirements.
  • Verify client rent payments on a monthly basis.
  • Assist case managers and clients with housing applications, searches, and connections.
  • Exhibit ethical behavior that reflects the core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect, and responsibility.
  • Demonstrate openness, honesty, and accountability to colleagues, volunteers, donors, and all stakeholders.
  • Accept personal responsibility for the performance of assigned duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding work-related information and materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid CA Driver's License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer and client relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
  • Knowledge of HUD Housing inspections and reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with the housing rental market and property management.
