Position Overview

At Anchor Counseling & Education Solutions, LLC, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of students with unique needs. We are currently in search of a Specialized Physical Education Instructor who is passionate about providing tailored physical education services to K-12 students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized or small group adapted physical education instruction that aligns with the specific needs and objectives of students.
  • Travel to various educational settings to provide essential adapted physical education services and assessments.
  • Conduct thorough motor assessments for students with disabilities and offer targeted program recommendations.
  • Provide direct adapted physical education services to eligible students.
  • Collaborate with IEP team members to address student needs in adapted physical education.
  • Track and monitor student progress effectively.
  • Develop lesson plans that are consistent with individualized education plans (IEPs) and cater to the functional abilities of students.
  • Maintain comprehensive student records to document attendance, participation, and progress while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Oversee the inventory of instructional materials and equipment.
  • Assess the motor needs of individual students to determine their eligibility for adapted physical education services.
  • Prepare annual reports detailing current performance levels, progress on goals, and proposed future objectives.
  • Engage in progress reporting and monitoring throughout the academic year as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and attend all required staff meetings.
  • Offer services in both virtual and in-person formats.
  • Must hold a valid credential in the state of California.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a valid California Adaptive Physical Education Specialist credential along with an English Learner authorization. Required documentation includes:

  • Official Transcript(s)
  • California Credential Copy with APE Add-On Authorization
  • Credential documentation indicating subject description, expiration date, and EL authorization
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Minimum of two Letters of Recommendation
  • Current Resume

Additional Information

Employment offers are contingent upon successful fingerprint clearance, which incurs a fee payable by the applicant. Evidence of tuberculosis-free status, as per Education Code 49406, is also required.
