Job Summary

Amtec is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students with a variety of special needs, including learning, behavior, and social challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students
  • Provide instruction and support to students with special needs, including those with learning, behavior, and social challenges
  • Assess student skills and learning requirements, and develop related goals and objectives
  • Monitor student progress and make data-driven decisions to inform instruction
  • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflicts through the development and implementation of appropriate behavior management techniques
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for a temporary Special Education permit from the California Department of Education
  • Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Severe Credential
  • Preference given to candidates with Special Education and Welligent and/or SEIS experience
  • Proven ability to work with individuals with severe language learning, emotional, and behavior disorders
  • Must demonstrate an interest in furthering professional development and training and experience with individuals and/or families with exceptional needs
  • Must clear a current background check through the FBI and DOJ
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in the use of modern technology and office equipment
  • 13 years of experience in education
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish/Sign Language preferred but not required
