Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will function as the nursing triage specialist, responsible for evaluating incoming clinical information for potential inpatient admissions. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to assess admission suitability and facilitate patient placement.

This position is based in Brooklyn Park.

Core Duties:
- Evaluate clinical data for medical complexities.
- Review cases with ongoing medical conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams regarding medical or psychiatric concerns.
- Communicate with emergency department personnel as necessary.
- Assess the appropriateness of patient placement within the facility.
- Organize and lead interdisciplinary meetings.
- Provide training and support to Patient Intake Coordinators.
- Monitor and evaluate quality assurance metrics.
- Address and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts.
- Assist with patient admissions to the unit as required.

Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Nursing Degree; a BSN is preferred.
- Current RN licensure with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Inpatient Psychiatry is required.
- Experience in process and project management is essential.
- Prior medical and psychiatric triage experience is necessary.
- Emergency department experience is advantageous.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in multitasking, time management, and prioritization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
- Ability to respond swiftly and calmly in potentially volatile situations.
- A focus on quality management, with a commitment to continuous improvement and thoroughness.
