About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities Management to join our team at Ccahm. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of all campus facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Facilities department, ensuring timely completion of tasks and the assignment of work-order requests across multiple campuses and university-owned buildings.
  • Manage the engineering, maintenance, repair, and renovation of buildings, grounds, and equipment to maintain optimal condition and functionality.
  • Lead and mentor Facilities department staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and completing quality work.
  • Provide oversight of housekeeping personnel and vendors.
  • Prepare and manage annual facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Oversee all facilities-related projects from initiation to completion, including the evaluation of bids submitted by vendors and collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate the purchase of necessary supplies and equipment, including the periodic review of vendor contracts and costs.
  • Focus on energy-saving projects.
  • Work with utility companies, water, and sewer authorities as necessary.
  • Ensure all university facilities meet and comply with all safety and environmental standards, permits, licenses, and code compliance.
  • Contribute to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High school degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a facilities manager or relevant position.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
  • Knowledge of local and state building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in Facilities Management or Engineering, energy management, or a closely related field.
  • Membership in a professional facilities organization.
  • Prior facilities experience in a higher education setting.
