Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medical Management Corporation. As a Medical Documentation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clinical staff by accurately capturing and documenting patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure complete and accurate capture of information as spoken/instructed verbatim by the clinician.
  • Assist the clinician with navigation of the electronic health record (at no time is the scribe performing independent clinical judgement or direct patient care).
  • Assist the clinician with navigation of other electronic information systems necessary for care coordination.
  • Assist with document preparation, emailing, and faxing.
  • Accompany clinician in all approved patient care locations.
  • Reads requested parts of the electronic health record to the clinician.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Six months experience as a medical scribe, medical transcriptionist or other related job in a medical office.
  • Proficiency in typing, spelling, punctuation, grammar, oral communication.
  • Must be able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
