Medical Communications Specialist

Job Summary:
The Medical Communications Specialist is a key member of the Mercy Medical Center team, responsible for providing exceptional patient experience through effective communication. This role involves answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and taking accurate messages. The specialist will also be responsible for sending new patient packets, scanning documents, and working with the team to improve workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule office appointments and procedures
- Take accurate phone messages and send them to the relevant parties
- Make reminder calls to patients and send prep information for upcoming procedures
- Provide patients with information on physicians, directions to locations, and educational materials
- Answer patients' or physicians' questions and provide high-quality customer service
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a medical office environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Meditech, and Epic
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
