Healthcare Access Coordinator

Position Overview:
The role of the Patient Access Representative is crucial as it serves as the initial interaction point for patients seeking care. This position embodies the values of Mercy, providing exemplary customer service and compassion while adhering to our mission and service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative will manage all aspects of patient entry into any Mercy facility. Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling appointments and managing patient registrations.
- Conducting benefit verifications and pre-certifications.
- Ensuring financial clearance, including pre-visit collections.
- Accurately gathering and entering patient information into the medical records system.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities at this level, including familiarity with various insurance plans and financial clearance processes.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. The ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines with precision is required.
- Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly, as well as prolonged periods of standing and walking.
