Key Responsibilities

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for executing prescribed techniques to produce both general and specific x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Additional duties will be performed under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Explaining procedures to patients and completing preliminary read forms.
  • Conducting routine examinations as ordered by medical providers.
  • Adjusting x-ray equipment to the appropriate settings for each examination.
  • Ensuring proper shielding of patients.
  • Maintaining records as mandated by the New York State Department of Health.
  • Upholding Quality Assurance standards.
  • Understanding bloodborne pathogens and adhering to universal precaution protocols.
  • Performing additional clinical duties as assigned, which may include patient intake, vital signs, drug and breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, EKG, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and specimen preparation for laboratory testing.
Qualifications

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, possess ARRT certification, hold a current New York State license, and have BLS certification.

Experience: We welcome new graduates; however, one year of experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
