Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of pertinent experience in the construction sector.
  • At least two years of experience in a supervisory role or completion of relevant supervisory training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Assistant Project Manager or Field Representative within the organization.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer or Architect license.
  • A minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in PC applications and construction management systems (such as Oracle Contract Manager, PMWeb, P6 scheduling).
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Analytical thinking and conceptualization skills.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and make sound decisions.

Duties Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of construction projects, ensuring value-added services for client agencies.

Essential Functions:
  • Act as the primary representative for New York State, liaising with client agencies.
  • Develop and oversee project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage the selection process for design and construction consultants.
  • Coordinate project activities among various stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to all organizational procedures.
  • Supervise field personnel and uphold project quality standards.
  • Engage in claims documentation and resolution.
  • Establish protocols for project requirements.
  • Pursue new business opportunities with client agencies.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Train and assess employee performance.
  • Implement internal controls and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of policies.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.
Supervision:

Supervisory responsibilities for employees are required.

Physical/Mental/Visual Demands:

Travel may be necessary, with potential exposure to various weather conditions. Decision-making under pressure may occasionally be required.

Health and Safety Requirements:

Candidates must adhere to applicable laws regarding health and safety protocols.

Work Environment:

The official work location may involve frequent visits to construction sites.

Utilization of PC, telephone, fax, and other office equipment is necessary.
