Job Title: Assistant Manager, Merchandising and Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager, Merchandising and Operations to join our team. As a key member of our store operations, you will be responsible for managing overall store performance, achieving company goals, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all customers.
  • Proactively assist customers in solving problems and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and store layout awareness.
  • Ensure all customer calls and pages are answered promptly and effectively.

Store Operations:

  • Supervise and manage store operations, ensuring a safe and professional work environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of company programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise areas.
  • Manage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs to maximize and protect physical assets.

Inventory and Merchandising:

  • Ensure forklift operations and receiving are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise, adhering to best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure store profitability.
  • Oversee merchandise resets throughout the store and ensure all signage is current.

Hiring and Training of Associates:

  • Assist in training and development of all associates.
  • Actively recruit and promote the advancement of Westlake associates.
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding, and coaching Sales Associates and Department Specialists.

Leadership:

  • Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Lead by example, being approachable by all associates and customers.
  • Participate in store meetings and communicate any merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas to the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Previous retail management experience preferred, with hardware experience a plus.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25lbs), and climb.

Compensation:

  • Starting salary: $21.00/hour.
