Overview:
Management roles (Assistant Store Managers and Supervisors) will assist the Store Manager in executing daily operations focused on customer satisfaction, sales growth, and staff development while embodying the JD Finish Line ethos. Key responsibilities include:

Support Store Management in daily operations, including customer engagement, inventory oversight, stock management, cash handling, procedural documentation, visual merchandising, and store opening/closing tasks.

Mentor and train store associates to enhance team performance and achieve store objectives.


Collaborate with management to plan and implement company initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.

Oversee the receipt of shipments, merchandise transfers, and point-of-sale operations to ensure accurate inventory management.

Strive to understand customer preferences to enhance their shopping experience.

Provide constructive feedback and manage conflicts to foster team development and cooperation.

Maintain individual and team sales performance.

Ensure daily floor coverage during shifts.

Exhibit strong judgment regarding store priorities.


Demonstrate comprehensive business insight, including a thorough understanding of key performance indicators, inventory dynamics, and sales metrics.

Take ownership of store performance goals related to sales, metrics, and employee development.

Make critical decisions that drive sales and enhance customer service.

Ensure security and loss prevention measures are in place to maintain accurate inventory and merchandise flow.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Assist in the recruitment and interviewing of prospective employees.

Responsible for store opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and security protocols.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities and projects may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years of retail leadership experience preferred; or a combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills:
Must effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, utilizing spoken, written, electronic, and presentation skills. Communication should be consistently constructive and professional, and teamwork is essential.
Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Utilizes specialized knowledge to address complex problems that may impact areas beyond their immediate responsibilities.

Approaches new situations and opportunities with confidence and curiosity.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Availability is required during store operating hours, including mornings, days, and evenings.

Reliable transportation is necessary.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English with customers and staff.


Must possess reading and writing skills in English and perform basic business mathematics to understand corporate sales reports.


Physical Requirements:
Requires standing for 5 to 14 hours daily.

During peak sales periods, may work extended hours of 1 to 12 hours.


Requires bending and kneeling to assist customers with merchandise, as well as reaching and pulling to stock items.

May need to climb ladders or stairs to retrieve or stock merchandise.

Must be able to lift items weighing 5 to 25 lbs regularly, with occasional heavier weights.

Good vision, including color differentiation, is necessary.

The work environment is moderately noisy.

Compensation:

Assistant Manager pay range: $20.00 per hour. Supervisor pay range: $17.50. Full-time roles are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off.
