Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Compliance Engineer responsible for ensuring that Trystar's legacy products, integrated systems, and custom solutions comply with all applicable electrical and mechanical standards and regulations. This role is integral to the Engineering Function and will report directly to the MCS Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement engineering design, installation, and testing specifications in line with compliance standards to guarantee product integrity.
  • Contribute to ongoing design initiatives and new projects.
  • Coordinate with external testing laboratories for compliance assessments and testing, including UL, ETL, and others.
  • Develop and uphold product compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal evaluations, studies, and audits to ensure adherence to relevant laws and standards.
  • Oversee multiple site inspections and certifications.
  • Establish best practices for compliance and risk management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain a unified compliance strategy.
  • Provide compliance guidance and support to Trystar teams.
  • Address technical challenges related to product design and manufacturing.
  • Stay informed about changes in electrical and mechanical standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on the organization’s compliance status.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in electrical compliance or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in product testing and process analysis.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within the USA and Canada as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in defining project scopes, coordinating work, and interpreting results from recognized testing laboratories.
  • Ability to create documentation supporting the change order process for product design engineers.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and relevant electrical standards.
  • Familiarity with UL standards, particularly UL1008, UL891, UL508, UL1640, UL1650, among others.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70, 101, 99, and similar standards.
  • Proficient in report writing and compliance procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with Seismically rated equipment testing and Medium Voltage standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with test engineers and product design teams.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and relevant software applications.
  • Experience in business operations or project management is advantageous.
  • Certification as a compliance professional is a plus.
