Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement: Actively engage in outreach activities to provide resources and support in diverse environments, including public spaces and areas lacking adequate facilities. This includes delivering vital services such as food, shelter, clothing, and transportation.
- Holistic Service Delivery: Offer a comprehensive range of social services, including financial literacy education, mentorship, counseling, legal support, and assistance with domestic issues. Aid clients in navigating housing options, public assistance programs, and financial resources.
- Client Management: Employ evidence-based methodologies, such as Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction, in client management practices. Regularly meet with clients to assess and refine their stability plans, emphasizing wellbeing and self-sufficiency.
- Adaptable Scheduling: Maintain flexible availability for work hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Record Keeping and Data Management: Ensure the timely updating and maintenance of client files and records using appropriate software. Accurately track time for activities associated with various funding sources.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in staff meetings, relevant conferences, and training opportunities. Engage in special projects and adhere to supervisory guidance. Adapt to evolving role requirements as directed by MEN TAKING OVER REFORMING SOCIETY, Inc.
- Demonstrated experience or aptitude for fulfilling job responsibilities effectively.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a human services role or relevant internship.
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations, engaging clients in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Experience working with individuals facing homelessness or other significant challenges, with a solid understanding of basic case management principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to upholding program policies and regulations.
- Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and ability to drive.
- Current CPR certification.
- Willingness to maintain confidentiality in accordance with MEN TAKING OVER REFORMING SOCIETY, Inc. standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities include: walking and climbing stairs; handling and manipulating objects and equipment; reaching with hands and arms; communicating and exchanging information verbally and in writing; moving quickly and easily between locations; performing repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; maintaining visual acuity for administrative tasks; driving within the community and occasionally transporting clients; and entering various buildings that may require navigating stairs and outdoor conditions.
