Position Overview:
The Senior Security Engineer will operate with minimal oversight, executing information security responsibilities that align with their expertise to ensure that applications and projects adhere to established quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to enhance our Cyber Operations Team, focusing on the security of Windows OS, Microsoft O365, and Azure environments.
  • Analyze security incidents and events effectively.
  • Engage hands-on with Microsoft Office 365 for monitoring, analysis, investigation, and the development of new alerts within O365 and Azure.
Essential Duties:
  • Implement both standard and customized processes to identify, validate, prioritize, and monitor security risks.
  • Detect unmanaged risks and propose enhancements to controls.
  • Proactively recognize deficiencies in security requirements.
  • Design and architect security control systems to meet specified requirements.
  • Operate and supervise established security measures.
  • Identify weaknesses in controls and provide suitable recommendations.
  • Ensure effective operation of controls and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Review, triage, and prioritize outputs from security controls.
  • Take necessary actions to address security discrepancies.
  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies, techniques, and tools.
  • Define, assess, and advocate for information security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Lead or co-lead initiatives for internal process improvements.
  • Provide constructive feedback on processes and suggest enhancements.
  • Assist in adhering to technology policies and complying with all security measures.
  • Possess a solid technical understanding of network fundamentals and common Internet protocols.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of permissions, roles, and security within both O365 and Azure Cloud.
  • Understand Windows OS, including both desktop and server versions, with knowledge of Windows security and event logging.
  • Exhibit the ability to write scripts and code in PowerShell.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Have operational experience in monitoring system logs and proficiency with a SIEM, including the ability to construct complex queries.
  • Show distinctive investigative, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • Possess technical security certifications such as Security+, Ethical Hacking, or GIAC Security, which are advantageous.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience must encompass direct involvement in several key areas, including securing networks and systems architecture, design and implementation, secure software assurance, intrusion detection, incident response, security configuration management, and the development of security policies and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of various communication protocols.
  • Experience with multiple Cyber Security tools, including Configuration Assessment, Log Aggregation, Integrity Verification, Web Application Security Testing, Network Access Control Systems, Network Intrusion Prevention Systems, and Endpoint Security Solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Proven ability to cultivate effective working relationships that enhance the quality of work outputs.
  • Organized, thorough, and capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Able to maintain focus and rapidly develop proficiency in new skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Information Security principles and disciplines.
Work Environment:
  • Occasional travel and extended hours may be necessary.
