What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is looking for a Senior Technical Product Leader to join our team and guide a group in delivering solutions in an agile manner. In this role, you will serve as the voice of the end-user, directing the daily activities of a cross-functional team, with a focus on achieving defined outcomes rather than specifying how the work is executed.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a technical authority, comfortably navigating both technology and business teams. Be adept at identifying and resolving issues with software engineers while also defining and scoping deliverables with business stakeholders. Establish, prioritize, and maintain a well-defined backlog of tasks for a cross-functional product team, ensuring acceptance of final product outputs while concentrating on achieving defined outcomes. Efficiently manage a backlog of deliverables and capabilities, engaging in 'test and learn' experimentation to define and refine future outputs, measure performance, and adjust the overall roadmap as necessary. Translate business strategies and requirements into actionable tasks for a technical team; set team goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives; effectively communicate these goals to key stakeholders and team members. Act as the voice of the end-user; possess a thorough understanding of customer needs and proactively seek feedback to ensure requirements are clearly articulated; ensure that team outputs meet established acceptance criteria. Own the team backlog, including prioritization and refinement; make trade-off decisions to maximize value. Enhance the flow of value by establishing objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for solutions. Participate in business readiness; comprehend the implications of change, translating approaches to manage adoption and mitigate resistance. Provide constructive feedback on ongoing work, clarify requirements, and assist in removing obstacles; seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and processes. Collaborate with key leaders and peers to identify resources necessary for achieving defined business outcomes. Share best practices across teams to ensure alignment and consistency in operational methodologies within a value stream. Cultivate an innovative, inclusive, and diverse team environment, promoting a positive culture that encourages collaboration and self-organization. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in product management preferred. At least two years of experience in the relevant discipline (Cybersecurity, Digital Platforms) preferred. Three years of experience in articulating and translating business strategy, product vision, and analysis for a product preferred. Agile Mindset: Embrace Agile core values of openness, courage, respect, focus, and commitment. Integrate Agile principles, practices, and methodologies to achieve team success. Product Mindset: Concentrate on defining a product value proposition that aligns with and supports the circle/value stream objectives, serving as the guiding principle for the team. Influence: Ability to affect the behaviors of leaders at all levels without relying on traditional hierarchy. Servant Leadership: Create an environment where individuals thrive as empowered and equal members of a team. Communication: Skill in conveying thoughts, concepts, and practices effectively at all levels, adapting as necessary for the target audience. Collaboration: Expertise in working with others in a cross-functional, multi-team environment.
