Director of Human Resources Job Description

At Great Wolf Lodge, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results and support the growth and development of our employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies that drive business results and support employee growth and development.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct thorough and objective investigations as necessary.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation and assist international employees with visas, assignments, and related HR matters.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and drive enterprise-wide talent and HR programs.
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, attention to detail, and enthusiastic and positive energy.
  • Multi-tasking ability and successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in hotel/resort/theme park industry.
  • Human Resources certification or other specialized training.
  • Experience utilizing HR Technology.
