We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach online courses at the University of Northwestern. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, engaging with students, and contributing to the academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver online courses in a specific area of focus, maintaining a regular and consistent online presence.
- Monitor discussion forums and respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.
- Grade student work in a timely and fair manner.
- Complete Best Practices in Online Teaching training modules to ensure excellence in online instruction.
- Participate in the development and implementation of online courses, collaborating with colleagues to achieve academic goals.
- A Master's degree with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline applied to teach, for most courses.
- A Bachelor's degree may meet minimum qualifications for teaching certain technology courses, depending on equivalent experience.
- Previous teaching experience with online instruction is preferred.
- Ability to integrate a Christian worldview into classroom instruction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including use of online teaching platforms.
The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university alongside colleagues who share a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Adjunct Faculty in this position teach in an online capacity.
