Compensation: $22.50 to $24.00 per hour


Position Summary

The Resident Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of clients within the Pathway Home program. Under the guidance of the Program Manager/Supervisor, the individual will provide essential client support, coordinate services, and implement safety protocols for interim housing residents.


Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and communicate the mission and core values of HOPICS effectively.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Supervisors, and Direct Service Staff to enhance service delivery.
  • Engage in regular meetings with management to share insights and observations.
  • Assist in light case management by creating individualized housing service plans and linking clients to necessary resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of LAHSA-funded programs and their eligibility criteria.
  • Support program staff in developing and disseminating program procedures.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with clients to assess their needs and progress.
  • Facilitate the development of client life skills and coordinate housing placement services.
  • Manage the calendar for Case Managers and housing navigators as required.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects as needed.
  • Assist clients in identifying employment opportunities and enhancing their job readiness.
  • Ensure timely submission of incident reports following each shift.
  • Conduct daily room inspections and relay client information at shift changes.
  • Travel between program locations to support staff and clients.
  • Articulate the HUD definition of homelessness accurately.
  • Attend and document all relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain client service records in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Uphold professional boundaries and adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics.
  • Represent the organization positively at community events.
  • Ensure consistent attendance.
  • Fulfill other duties as required.

Case Management Support
  • Provide assistance to case managers with program-related documentation.
  • Support all LAHSA-funded programs as needed.
  • Work with direct service staff to ensure accurate documentation in client files.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess an Associate degree in Social Services or a related field, along with 1-2 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. Candidates in recovery must have a minimum of three years of sobriety. Proficiency in HMIS and Microsoft Office Suite is essential, along with strong attention to detail and punctuality.


Mandatory Requirements
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Successful completion of a background check and verification of employment eligibility.

Working Conditions

Employees may encounter challenging situations, including interactions with aggressive clients. Local travel is required, and some evening and weekend work may be necessary. The work environment may be noisy and disruptive at times.


Physical and Mental Requirements

This role involves various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. The individual must be able to manage distractions and adapt to changing priorities effectively.
