Position Title: Vice President of Reservoir Engineering (Underground Gas Storage)

Job Overview:

The Vice President of Reservoir Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, management, and regulatory compliance of underground natural gas storage facilities, specifically focusing on salt caverns and depleted reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of operational protocols related to gas storage integrity, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and evaluations to prioritize and mitigate integrity threats associated with gas storage assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, utilizing advanced risk algorithms to inform long-term operational strategies.
  • Engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure optimal performance in deliverability, injectivity, and storage reliability.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of essential applications and databases, including Gas Storage Database and Well Risk Matrix.
  • Facilitate regulatory compliance and respond to inquiries from oversight bodies, ensuring all operations meet required standards.
  • Provide training and support to various departments, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes following stakeholder approval.

Work Environment:

The role requires a presence in a corporate setting, with occasional travel to operational sites as necessary. Flexibility for after-hours communication and extended periods of desk work may be required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geological Sciences.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in underground natural gas storage or related fields.
  • Proficiency in managing reservoir and well integrity datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management and adherence to safety protocols.
