Position Summary: We are currently seeking a qualified Reservoir Engineer to enhance our reservoir engineering and acquisitions & divestitures (A&D) team. This role is crucial for the growth of our operations and will focus on delivering high-quality engineering evaluations and financial analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate data requirements to clients, ensuring the acquisition of accurate information and maintaining quality control over input parameters in engineering assessments. Validate the technical integrity of input data and evaluation outcomes, while reviewing summary results for realistic performance forecasts based on historical data and industry benchmarks.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software tools (e.g., PHDWin, ARIES, ComboCurve) to conduct economic analyses and present findings clearly, including reserve characterizations under various pricing scenarios. Respond promptly to requests for updates on engineering and economic evaluations, ensuring effective communication of necessary information.
  • Engage with client companies through calls, visits, and meetings as required, coordinating engineering information needs and ensuring timely data receipt. Collaborate with third-party service providers and consultants to facilitate project completion and maintain adherence to deadlines.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by maintaining membership in relevant professional societies and participating in community and national organizations.
  • Be prepared to work extended hours during peak project periods to meet client demands.

Required Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of oil and gas operational criteria, guidelines, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with valuation methods for both producing and non-producing minerals.
  • Proficiency in essential reservoir engineering tasks, including decline curve analysis and volumetric hydrocarbon estimation.
  • Ability to interpret lease operating statements from both financial and operational viewpoints.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with ARIES and/or PHDWin is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in acquiring oil and gas data from commercial databases and regulatory bodies.
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas land/legal/contracts.
  • Familiarity with various U.S. reservoir basins.
  • Understanding of oil and gas-related geology.
  • Knowledge of ComboCurve, PETRA, and Spotfire/Tableau is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the petroleum engineering field, with a focus on reservoir engineering.
  • Experience in A&D is preferred but not mandatory.
