Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys, investigators, and mitigation specialists in the Public Defender office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date filing and record-keeping systems
  • Prepare and edit legal documents, memos, and letters
  • Communicate effectively with public defender office colleagues, clients, and judicial system personnel
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry and mail preparation
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Google Suite applications, including Gmail and Google Docs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience within the criminal justice system
  • Fluency in Spanish
