Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Sentara Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient care and administrative tasks based on training, education, and competency evaluations.
- Work under the direction of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses.
- Assist with phlebotomy, clinical, and clerical duties.
- Verify patient information and prepare patients for medical procedures.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.
