Staff Accountant is tasked with assisting the Director of Finance in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting; maintaining acceptable levels of internal control; ensuring compliance with Highgate Hotels Standard Operating Procedures; and providing support and coaching to team members.

This role emphasizes the management of income audits, depository bank reconciliations, recording monthly expenses, and assisting in resolving balance sheet discrepancies.

This position is Hybrid from the corporate office.

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly revenue between the Property Management System and the Oracle General Ledger. Produce and distribute monthly analyses to the Director of Finance and Hotel Accounting teams.
- Record monthly expenses for credit card fees, chargebacks, and banking fees.

- Review, reconcile, and document daily income journal activities from Profit Sword to Oracle for each hotel assignment, providing daily/weekly/monthly status updates to accounting and revenue management teams.

- Support the Income Journal team in meeting weekly STR deadlines.
- Prepare and complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and post monthly cash entries, collaborating with treasury to confirm deposits are clearing the bank.

- Reconcile assigned bank accounts daily, ensuring that general ledger activity aligns with bank transactions. This must be completed before the end of business each day, noting any variances for discussion with the property Operations Team.

- Ensure that open items identified during the daily reconciliation process are communicated with necessary follow-up.
- Understand and adhere to internal cash reconciliation processes and reporting using Oracle and Blackline application data.
- Prepare documentation for External Auditors. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the Director of Accounting if necessary.
- Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team.
- Provide training and support to the accounting team.
- Assist with the AR process as needed.
- Provide support on ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience.
- Hospitality and hotel-specific experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Blackline, Profit Sword, and Oracle strongly preferred.
- A/R experience strongly preferred.
- Strong PC skills including Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
