Position Overview

Reporting to the Technical Accounting Manager, the Senior Revenue Accountant is tasked with overseeing all financial activities related to revenue at Caris Life Sciences. This pivotal role involves managing the monthly revenue recognition process and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. A profound knowledge of revenue accounting under ASC 606, along with strong analytical capabilities and a collaborative spirit, is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the timely completion of month-end and quarter-end processes, which includes preparing intricate schedules (e.g., revenue reconciliation, deferred revenue, accounts receivable rollforward), journal entries, account reconciliations, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Conduct thorough revenue analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, delivering actionable insights to senior management.
  • Reconcile accounts related to revenue, ensuring precision and prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Engage in technical accounting research and provide expert guidance on revenue recognition issues, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards.
  • Collaborate with various teams to gain insights into business transactions.
  • Assist in the implementation of SOX controls.
  • Support both internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing any revenue-related inquiries.
  • Participate in or lead special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in public accounting with a Big 4 firm.
  • 2+ years of experience specifically in revenue accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Conditions of Employment: Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment process, which includes a criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a CPA license.
  • Strong aptitude and eagerness to learn new software as required. Familiarity with data analytics tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience with Oracle Cloud and/or Xifin EOM reporting is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work effectively both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous improvement and automation.
  • Skills in SQL or data analytics are a plus.
  • Focus on delivering results, ensuring that processes lead to high-quality outcomes, and continuously evaluating their effectiveness for improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to share and receive information across all organizational levels.
  • Commitment to achieving team and organizational goals through collaboration and support of team members.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for extended periods.

Training

All job-specific, safety, and compliance training will be assigned based on the functions associated with this role.

Additional Information

May be required to work on weekends and holidays.
