Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations in an outpatient clinical setting.

This role involves managing patients with both acute and chronic vision needs, performing appropriate history and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests, and evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatment for routine and complex ophthalmological conditions.

You will also collaborate with other providers and members of the healthcare team in delivery of care, make appropriate referrals when needed, educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans, and facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patients with both acute and chronic vision needs
  • Perform appropriate history and physical examinations

Requirements
  • Master's of Science Degree in Vision Science
  • Current/valid OD license to practice with prescriptive authority in the state of Ohio
  • Completion of accredited Optometry residency program
  • Board certified or Board eligible for ABCO or ABCMO certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of one (1) year work experience as Optometrist
