Job OverviewThe Department of Otolaryngology is a top-tier department that boasts world-renowned faculty and staff, and offers world-class research, teaching, and medical practice opportunities. We are proud to be writing the next chapter on Ear, Nose, and throat (ENT) care worldwide through leading-edge research and new treatments pioneered right here in Cincinnati.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat adult patients in a tertiary Otolaryngology practice inclusive of multiple subspecialties, including head and neck oncology with complex reconstruction, skull base surgery, facial plastic surgery, laryngology, and airway disorders.
- Learn how to order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans, and facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in research and development projects, and participate in education of APPs, APP students, and medical students.
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program, or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority, or Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, or Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
