Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine is seeking an experienced Optometrist to provide comprehensive patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. This role involves working directly with patients and other medical team members to provide personalized care and develop the education, knowledge, and expertise of all providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patients with acute and chronic vision needs, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultations.
- Perform history and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and evaluate and diagnose ophthalmological conditions.
- Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities, monitor interventions, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and healthcare team members to deliver care and make referrals as needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans, and facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in clinical research and development projects, and educate optometry residents and medical students.
Requirements
- Master's of Science Degree in Vision Science.
- Current/valid OD license to practice with prescriptive authority in the state of Ohio.
- Completion of accredited Optometry residency program.
- Board certified or Board eligible for ABCO or ABCMO certification.

- A minimum of one (1) year work experience as an Optometrist.
