Join Our Team as a Sustainable Energy Consultant

LaBella Associates is seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic Buildings Engineering Division. We are at the forefront of energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives that empower our clients to minimize their energy consumption and environmental impact.

We are looking for an entry-level or junior Sustainable Energy Consultant with 2-5+ years of relevant experience. This role is essential in guiding our energy projects from initial feasibility assessments through to construction and final commissioning.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to LaBella's mission of enhancing the sustainability of our communities and addressing climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct energy audits and feasibility assessments to pinpoint Energy Conservation Measures.
  • Analyze utility data and evaluate energy consumption patterns.
  • Perform fundamental energy savings calculations, utilizing field data to estimate potential savings.
  • Develop design concepts and prepare technical documentation, while also supporting mechanical design projects as needed.
  • Interpret complex plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project design requirements.
  • Plan, execute, and document the commissioning of various Mechanical and Electrical Systems to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and inspections of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Take a proactive role in resolving construction challenges and procedural issues.
  • Stay informed about relevant engineering and construction codes.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of pertinent experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Possession or pursuit of a NYS PE License.
  • Certifications in Energy and/or Commissioning from recognized industry organizations (CEM, CBCP, BCxP, BEAP, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of M/E/P/FP systems, building automation technologies, and design/construction processes.
  • Proficiency in building modeling software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation for occasional site visits, along with a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
