The Sustainability and Commissioning Specialist will collaborate with fellow engineers and project managers as part of a project team to assist in the formulation of concepts, strategies, designs, specifications, and reports for new construction and renovation projects with a focus on sustainability and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct energy assessments and feasibility analyses to pinpoint Energy Conservation Measures.
  • Perform utility data analysis and evaluate energy consumption patterns.
  • Execute fundamental energy savings calculations, making informed assumptions when necessary and utilizing data collected from the field to estimate potential savings.
  • Develop design concepts in technical documentation and may support mechanical design projects as needed.
  • Interpret complex plans and specifications to ensure compliance with all project design requirements.
  • Plan, execute, and document the commissioning of various Mechanical and Electrical Systems to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and inspections of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Take a proactive role in addressing construction challenges, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant engineering and construction codes.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Possession or pursuit of a New York State Professional Engineer License.
  • Certifications in Energy and/or Commissioning from recognized industry organizations (CEM, CBCP, BCxP, BEAP, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Functional understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems, as well as building automation systems and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in building modeling software applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
Compensation:
Salary range is $75,000 - $90,000, influenced by various factors including relevant experience, education, and work location.
