Job Title: Engineering Technician I

Vector CSP, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician I to join our team. As an Engineering Technician I, you will provide technical support to our clients, ensuring the smooth operation of complex electronic systems.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for modifying, maintaining, and repairing electronics equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning. This will involve replacing defective components, setting up and operating test equipment, and reading blueprints and technical manuals to guide installations, repairs, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Modify, maintain, or repair electronics equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments.
  • Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools.
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Select electronics equipment, components, or systems to meet functional specifications.
  • Calculate design specifications or cost, material, and resource estimates, and prepare project schedules and budgets.
  • Educate equipment operators on the proper use of equipment.
  • Supervise the installation or operation of electronic equipment or systems.
  • Compile and maintain records documenting engineering schematics, installed equipment, installation or operational problems, resources used, repairs, or corrective action performed.
  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, or systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Integrate software or hardware components, using computer, microprocessor, or control architecture.
  • Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
  • Operating and adjusting simple test equipment
  • Records test data
  • Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
  • Performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas
  • Plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs.
Requirements:
  • Secret Clearance required
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
  • No experience with degree/formal training or three (3) years with HS/GED of practical experience to include performing one or a combination of the following duties: assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting; performing simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Capable of performing simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices, including OSHA regulations and protocols for working with hazardous materials or electrical equipment
  • Physical dexterity and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, maneuvering equipment, and working in confined spaces
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, with a focus on precision in installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system or equipment issues
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for guiding installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Collaborative team player, following instructions from supervisors and working efficiently with colleagues to complete tasks
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Knowledge of handling, storing, and transporting tools, equipment, and materials in compliance with organizational and industry standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing updates and following instructions accurately.
