Position Overview:

This role presents a distinctive chance to become part of Arm's Silicon Solutions Testing Division, engaging with pioneering 3nm fabrication technologies and the latest advancements in 2.5D and 3D packaging solutions. The testing division collaborates closely with IP, SoC Design, Product, and Systems teams across the organization, ensuring representation of test engineering and spearheading the development of testing capabilities within Arm. The lab manager position demands a diligent focus on various aspects, including: lab enhancement initiatives, maintenance and organization of the lab, procurement and setup of laboratory apparatus, occasional execution of platform tests, board solder rework, and other lab-related responsibilities. Engineers will provide guidance as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and uphold validation platforms along with related equipment.
  • Oversee lab infrastructure (power, compressed dry air, network) and collaborate with Workplace and IT teams on any issues.
  • Reconfigure validation platforms and SLT test heads as required by project plans.
  • Perform hardware rework, SMT soldering, and debugging assistance based on lab user requirements.
  • Set up, maintain, and conduct SLT testing in accordance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for the maintenance and repair of lab equipment and facilities.
  • Organize and manage equipment calibration plans, schedules, and service agreements.
  • Assess new equipment options, arrange demonstrations, and collaborate with lab users to gather feedback.
  • Facilitate the shipment of chips and equipment among Arm locations according to project plans and debugging needs.
  • Maintain an inventory of lab products/assets and consumables, identifying and ordering minor lab tools and equipment.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Familiarity with SLT test engineering lab environments.
  • Solid understanding of protocols for handling ESD-sensitive devices.
  • Basic knowledge of information security and network protection.
  • Experience in solder rework of electronic boards.
  • Proven capability in a lab technician or lab management capacity.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or similar).
  • Basic data analysis skills using Excel or comparable tools.
  • Familiarity with SLT part handlers.
  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Sciences.
