Position Overview:

This role presents a remarkable chance to become a pivotal member of Arm's Silicon Solutions Testing Division, engaging with cutting-edge 3nm process technologies and the most advanced 2.5D and 3D packaging techniques. The testing division collaborates intimately with IP, SoC Design, Product, and Systems teams across the organization, representing test engineering and spearheading the evolution of testing capabilities within Arm. The lab manager position necessitates a diligent focus on various aspects, including: enhancing lab operations, maintaining and organizing the lab, procuring and setting up laboratory equipment, executing occasional platform tests, performing board solder rework, and undertaking additional lab-related responsibilities. Support will be provided by engineers as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and sustain validation platforms and their corresponding equipment.
  • Oversee lab infrastructure (power, compressed dry air, network) and collaborate with Workplace and IT teams to resolve any issues.
  • Reconfigure validation platforms and SLT test heads as required by project plans.
  • Conduct hardware rework, SMT soldering, and provide debugging assistance based on lab user requirements.
  • Set up, maintain, and execute SLT testing according to project specifications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for the maintenance and repair of lab equipment and facilities.
  • Organize and uphold equipment calibration plans, schedules, and service agreements.
  • Assess new equipment options, arrange demonstrations, and collaborate with lab users to gather feedback.
  • Manage shipments of chips and equipment among Arm locations based on project plans and debugging needs.
  • Maintain an inventory of lab products/assets and consumables, identifying and ordering minor lab tools and equipment.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with SLT test engineering lab environments.
  • Solid understanding of protocols for handling ESD-sensitive devices.
  • Basic knowledge of information security and network safety.
  • Experience in solder rework of electronic boards.
  • Proven capability in a lab technician or lab management capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or similar).
  • Basic data analysis skills using Excel or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with SLT part handlers.
  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Sciences.
