PURPOSE:

This centralized role is responsible for overseeing the procurement of equipment components and tools utilized by the maintenance team. The aim is to secure the most cost-effective and high-quality parts within the necessary timelines to enhance maintenance efficiency and maximize production uptime.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all purchase requisitions generated from the maintenance department using the CMMS application. Ensure inventory levels align with production requirements while remaining cost-effective, utilizing on-demand planning tools. Conduct research and assess parts requests in collaboration with maintenance supervisors, planners, and technicians to deliver optimal quality, pricing, and lead times. Oversee the MRO inventory and maintain accuracy through regular cycle counts. Process all replenishment orders for central stores. Analyze reorder points and quantities, adjusting based on usage history, anticipated needs, and current lead times. Implement LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance departmental efficiency and operational processes. Manage both external and internal repairable parts and equipment. Collaborate with vendors to manage leased parts contracts, evaluate pricing, and recommend new suppliers as necessary. Work cross-functionally with maintenance teams across various locations to create and update the corporate parts catalog. Monitor and expedite all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Prepare weekly/monthly reports as required. Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner with all external vendors. Undertake special projects and additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years of experience in maintenance and/or parts management and sourcing within a manufacturing context is preferred. A high school diploma is required. Strong understanding of maintenance, repair, and industrial components. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with a CMMS system is preferred. Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities; this role requires working under tight deadlines and the capacity to multitask. Demonstrates persistence and seeks alternative solutions when faced with challenges; takes initiative without needing to be prompted. Strong research skills using the internet, manufacturer manuals, etc. Works resourcefully within the system to achieve reasonable goals; adapts to process changes and accommodates new methods and procedures.
