What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage an extensive catalog of over 1,000 SKUs in our tailored manufacturing setup.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and nurture relationships with both new and existing suppliers to ensure high standards of quality and dependability.
  • On-the-Ground Involvement: Regularly visit the production and warehouse areas to verify order accuracy and collaborate with shipping, receiving, and operations teams on daily and weekly requirements.
  • Material Acquisition: Source and secure both finished goods and raw materials required for bespoke projects.
  • Cost-Saving Negotiations: Engage in strategic spot negotiations to optimize procurement costs.
  • Local Sourcing: Identify and negotiate with domestic suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Spot inefficiencies and implement strategies to reduce waste and enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Order Processing: Accurately input Purchase Orders (POs) into our ERP system.
  • Independent Management: Take charge of your responsibilities, managing tasks and deadlines autonomously.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Purchasing Manager on sourcing new suppliers, qualifying them, and handling negotiations.
  • Culture Promotion: Uphold and foster our company’s core values within the team.
What You’ll Need:
  • Educational Background: BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related technical field preferred, or 5+ years of equivalent purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing within a manufacturing environment, preferably dealing with plastics, cardboard, metals, or other raw/finished goods.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation skills, self-management, and proficiency in purchasing methodologies like vendor management, inventory management, data analysis, and relationship building.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with MRP or ERP systems and MS Excel.
