Job Overview

NIKA is seeking experienced Senior Project Leads to deliver essential support services to the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence within the healthcare sector.

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred, alongside substantial knowledge of medical facility design, construction, and management.
  • Professional engineering registration is not a prerequisite.
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant and documented experience in project management is essential, with a preference for expertise in healthcare facilities.
  • Experience must include direct responsibility for effective project management operations in support of medical healthcare campuses, with recent experience within the last six months.
  • A certification in Project/Construction/Healthcare Construction/Facility management is required or must be obtained within nine months of onboarding from an accredited program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive management of construction projects, including modernization initiatives, by developing measurable performance work statements (PWS) and accurate estimates.
  • Act as the liaison for the DHA and Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), providing technical expertise in facility transformation and clinical integration.
  • Support the planning and execution of Integrated Design and Initial Outfitting and Transition (iDBIO) projects.
  • Assist in the development of Master/Facility Plans for long-term forecasting and funding acquisition for construction and renovation projects.
  • Maintain documentation and metrics to achieve management process goals for MILCON and Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Base Civil Engineering and Environmental teams, to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate the development and review of phasing plans and ensure effective communication throughout project execution.
  • Review environmental documents and provide recommendations as necessary.
  • Assist with demolition contract requirements and ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Coordinate validation efforts to ensure designs meet sustainability goals and compliance with established codes and standards.
  • Gather and analyze data to assist with change order development and ensure stakeholder issues are addressed.
  • Review construction contract documents and oversee project status and milestone tracking.
  • Report on contractor compliance with testing procedures for specialized systems.
  • Present project-related information to MTF and DHA/FE in a professional manner, demonstrating comprehensive project knowledge.
  • Assist in the transition of personnel to newly constructed or renovated facilities.
