LANDSCAPE OPERATIONS TEAM SUPERVISOR

Position Overview: The Landscape Operations Team Supervisor is tasked with overseeing a small team of 2-3 personnel in executing a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance activities. This role encompasses the upkeep of multiple landscape locations, directing projects of differing sizes and complexities, and guaranteeing high-quality outcomes. The position demands considerable hands-on involvement, including plant care, weed management, flower and plant installation, trimming, and seasonal maintenance. Furthermore, during the winter months, the role requires readiness around the clock for snow and ice management responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guide a team on landscaping initiatives, ensuring exceptional quality of work.
  • Oversee the maintenance of landscape sites under the guidance of a supervisor.
  • Execute tasks such as weed identification and removal, plant installation, trimming, and seasonal maintenance.
  • Coordinate snow removal activities, including plowing, snow blowing, and applying de-icing agents.
  • Educate team members on specific site requirements, equipment operation, safety measures, and maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and maintain accurate records of daily tasks and schedules.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance with familiarity of local flora.
  • Basic understanding of landscape construction practices.
  • Knowledge of plant care, including irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease management.
  • Experience with ladders and holiday lighting is a plus.
  • Reliability and punctuality are crucial.

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be fulfilled by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of the Landscape Operations Team Supervisor.

  • While carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, communicate, bend, stretch, pull or push, and lift items.
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs or more, work in varying weather conditions, and stand/walk for prolonged periods.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid chauffeur's license.
  • Fertilization/Pesticide License (must be obtained within 30 days of employment if not already held).
