Job Title: Grounds/Repair Technician

Company Overview: Davis School District is looking for a dedicated Grounds/Repair Technician to enhance our facilities team. In this role, you will focus on the installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of landscape and irrigation systems across our campuses.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Grounds/Repair Foreman, the Grounds/Repair Technician will handle various landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, tree management, and fertilization. Additionally, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of irrigation systems.

Key Responsibilities: The Grounds/Repair Technician will operate machinery, install landscaping features, and repair irrigation systems. This position may also be available as an apprenticeship opportunity.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and Pesticide Applicator's License.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL within four months.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Competence in reading and writing, performing basic math calculations, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Understanding of equipment repair, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Practical knowledge of maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with material safety data sheets (MSDS) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using computers and small office equipment.
  • Capability to manage inventory and property effectively.
