Position Summary

This role is crucial for overseeing the daily operations of CNC machinery including routers, lasers, punch presses, and brake presses, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, safety, and cleanliness. The individual in this position will also assume the responsibilities of the Fabrication Supervisor as required, providing guidance and support to the team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program CNC machinery to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
  • Manage daily tasks such as updating production sheets, conducting inventory checks, and reviewing production schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy in task completion based on directives from the Supervisor and documentation.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and utilize measuring tools to guarantee precision in work.
  • Conduct setup and quality assurance checks, completing necessary documentation.
  • Support the Supervisor in coordinating daily team activities and communicate production goals effectively.
  • Monitor labor hours and production timelines to meet project deadlines.
  • Inspect the fabrication area at the end of shifts to confirm cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Authorize vacation and time-off requests for team members as needed.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and general cleanliness of the fabrication workspace.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations set by the company and government.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by engaging with all departments within MDI Worldwide.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the company's core values through exemplary conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to maintain a positive workplace.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and team-building abilities.
  • Proficient in metrology and skilled in using various inspection tools to measure with precision.
  • Ability to set up and operate all machinery within the CNC department.

Education and Experience
  • Experience in a fabrication production setting with a solid understanding of industry standards.
  • 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and operation.

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
  • Familiarity with Lotus and Mac-Pac software is advantageous.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand and use hands and arms to manipulate parts. Frequent walking and occasional stooping or kneeling are necessary. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The work environment may expose the employee to moving mechanical parts and vibrations, with a moderate noise level.
