Business Systems Analyst Job Description

The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in facilitating the effective use of technology to support business processes and drive organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational tasks and design solutions that enhance business processes.
  • Apply various methods to gather and analyze business and system requirements, creating functional documentation that outlines business processes, requirements, and direction on how to best utilize advancement systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, propose solutions, test fixes or workarounds, and communicate solutions to end users in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with business partners to build use cases, functional test cases, and test scripts, executing test scripts to validate and test software functionality and resolving issues.
  • Build expertise in UIF enterprise systems to configure software to support business processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a professional environment, preferably in a Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience leading diverse groups towards resolution.
  • Ability to represent and communicate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Proven capacity to understand complex business and technical concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust content based on the audience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Hands-on experience creating business process diagrams and documentation.
  • Experience with an enterprise CRM software solution such as Blackbaud CRM.
  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • An understanding of advancement concepts and processes.
  • Experience in Higher Education or a complex organization.
