Overview

Position Summary: This role is part of the US Army Cadet Command and involves significant responsibilities in supply chain and logistics management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in all facets of supply and logistics operations for the SROTC Program and its affiliates.
  • Manage and forecast budgets related to Operations and Maintenance, Army (OMA) and Military Personnel, Army (MPA) for the host program and its affiliates.
  • Maintain accountability for property and oversee various supply classes at the host and affiliated programs.
  • Employ automated systems and software applications to generate documents for supply transactions, management reports, and logistics activities.
Employment Conditions

  • Employment may require a suitability or fitness assessment based on a completed background check.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination is mandatory.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Drug testing is a requirement.
  • May take on additional responsibilities as the Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), necessitating travel for testing.
  • Completion of the DA Form 5019, Designation of Testing Designated Positions, is required.
  • Completion of the Unit Armor Course may be necessary, with training provided by the Command.
  • Certification Training for Contracting Officers Representative may also be required.
  • A one-year probation period may be applicable.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Material Endorsement (HAZMAT) may be required.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • Moderate lifting of up to 50 pounds is expected.
  • Completion of the DA 5019 and the Lautenberg Agreement is necessary.
  • Business travel may be required approximately 30% of the time, including possible extended travel for training purposes.

To qualify, candidates must demonstrate the required education and/or experience as outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations.

Specialized Experience: Candidates must possess at least one year of experience that equips them for this role. Specialized experience is defined as work equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, involving tasks such as maintaining record management files, inspecting supplies or equipment, operating automated systems for document preparation, and managing property books in compliance with regulations.

Applicants will be assessed based on their competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last year must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education Requirements

Some federal positions allow for the substitution of education for required experience. Graduate education may be credited in specific instances where it directly relates to the job. Only degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable for meeting positive education requirements or substituting education for experience.

Foreign Education: If using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, candidates must provide evaluation credentials from a recognized organization that confirms equivalency to U.S. education standards.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

  • A one-year trial/probationary period may be necessary.

Evaluation Process

Applicants will be evaluated based on how well they meet the qualifications outlined above. Any inflation of qualifications or experience may result in disqualification.

Priority Placement Program (PPP) preference may also be claimed, with consideration at the full-performance grade level only.
