Employment Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $21.50 per hour

Work Schedule: 4/10 hour shifts

Position Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the facility's grounds, equipment, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts grounds maintenance, including operating grass and snow removal equipment.
  2. Drives company vehicles as necessary.
  3. Performs routine maintenance on buildings, including minor painting, filter replacements, light bulb changes, and hardware repairs.
  4. Completes regular maintenance on tractors, skid-steers, and other ground maintenance machinery.
  5. Operates and maintains all air compressors.
  6. Changes air makeup filters as required based on production needs.
  7. Assists in cleaning the administration building, which includes vacuuming and sanitizing various surfaces.
  8. Collects parts or supplies from local vendors.
  9. Clears snow from buildings and parking areas.
  10. Manages trash and recycling programs.
  11. Maintains records for various maintenance checks conducted monthly, semiannually, and annually.
  12. Conducts scheduled static grounding checks for all production buildings.
  13. Performs minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  14. Handles maintenance tasks that may generate hazardous waste and other environmental responsibilities.
  15. Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR restrictions apply).
  2. Minimum age of 18 years.
  3. Eligibility to possess explosives as per the Safe Explosives Act of 2003.
  4. High school diploma or GED required; related experience or training preferred.
  5. Effective communication and documentation skills in English.
  6. Function-specific RCRA training upon hire.
  7. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  8. Capability to manage multiple tasks to achieve goals.

While executing the responsibilities of this role:

  1. Ability to communicate verbally and audibly with others.

  5. Must lift up to 10 pounds regularly and be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  6. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.
  7. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and potential electrical hazards.
  8. Hearing protection is mandatory in designated areas.
  9. Employees must wear clothing that meets safety standards to reduce electrostatic discharge (ESD) risks and must wear company-issued safety footwear.
