Summary:
The Patient Registration Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact within the Hospital System for customers, including patients, healthcare providers, and various hospital departments. This role is essential in facilitating the registration process for both inpatient and outpatient services.
The Patient Registration Coordinator is tasked with ensuring that patients have seamless access to the Hospital System while adhering to all registration, business, and administrative protocols associated with each patient interaction.
Responsibilities:
- EDUCATION: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year in hospital registration or medical office experience is required; familiarity with Medical Terminology is preferred.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
- Proficient in general office tasks, including computer/keyboarding skills, fax machines, and typing at a minimum of 30 wpm.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and follow-through are critical.
- Ability to maintain professionalism when engaging with a diverse range of customers and situations.
- Self-motivated and eager to contribute to departmental enhancements.
- Flexibility and effectiveness in a dynamic healthcare environment are necessary.
